Intern in St-Germain through the Jumelage Internship Program

Is the internship free?

Kind of. The host family provides free housing, meals, and trips around the region. However, the interns are responsible for paying for their own transportation between France and the US. They must also pay for any personal purchases that they make, including the lunches that they eat at work.

How old do you need to be?

All applicants must have a high school diploma and be under 25.

Do you need be fluent in French?

No, but applicants must demonstrate a proficiency in French to be considered for the program. Previous interns have completed high school French Level 5. Interns will be placed in jobs that match their proficiency.

Do you need to be a member of the Winchester Jumelage Association to apply?

Not necessarily, but joining the Jumelage community is encouraged! Click here to learn more about the association. You do, however, need to be from Winchester.

What sort of jobs do the interns get?

All of the internships are unpaid. The Jumelage Association tries its best to match students with jobs in an area that they are studying or are interested in. However, the job will not necessarily be related to the student’s studies.

How long does the internship last?

The interns are in Saint-Germain-en-Laye for three to four weeks, usually the last three weeks of June.
